FRUITY & NUTTY OATMEAL

Oats, tender apples and plump raisins are combined with cinnamon and pure maple syrup topped with flax meal, walnuts, dried cranberries and an almond butter drizzle… YUMMY!



2-4 servings


INGREDIENTS:


  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 medium apple, diced (peeled if non-organic)

  • 1/4 cup raisins

  • ¼ tsp pink salt (optional)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup


GARNISH OPTIONS


  • almond butter, raw walnuts, flax meal, hemp hearts, unsweetened cranberries, a dash of cinnamon


DIRECTIONS:


  1. Add oats, water, apple, raisins and salt to a small pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally.

  2. Stir in cinnamon and maple syrup until combined.

  3. Place in bowl and garnish. Enjoy!


NOTE: I make a double batch on meal prep day and enjoy it several times. Add a little plant- based milk when reheating. Feel free to switch up the nuts, seeds & berries to your liking! Also makes a great dessert.
